Privacy, in plain words.

The short version: your footage is yours. We process it to find your moments, we don't sell it, we don't train on it without asking (and you can opt out), and you can delete everything with one tap.
The waitlist
Waitlist emails are collected solely to notify you when Pineapple launches, stored in our EU (Supabase eu-west-1) database, and deletable on request to hello@pineapple-studio.co.uk.
What we collect
- Your email — to sign you in and tell you when builds ship.
- Your recordings — processed to detect the safe word and cut clips. Stored encrypted, on your device first.
- Usage basics — which features you use, so we know what to fix. Never the content of your footage.
What we never do
- Sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
- Train models on your footage without explicit, opt-in consent.
- Listen beyond the session you're recording. The mic is yours, not ours.
The safe word
Safe-word detection runs on-device wherever the hardware allows. When cloud processing is needed for long sessions, audio is encrypted in transit, processed, and deleted from our servers once your markers are returned.
Training, and opting out
We improve our detection models using anonymised, aggregated data only — never your raw footage, never your face or voice for endorsements. You can opt out entirely in Settings → Privacy → Model training, and opting out changes nothing about how well Pineapple works for you.
Who touches your data
A short list of vetted sub-processors helps us run Pineapple — cloud hosting and privacy-respecting analytics — each under contract to protect your data and use it only for us. Where data crosses borders, we use recognised safeguards (like standard contractual clauses) for international transfers. Business customers can request a data processing agreement via the contact page.
How long we keep things
- Recordings & clips — until you delete them or close your account.
- Closed accounts — deleted within 30 days, except encrypted backups and what the law requires.
- Cloud-processed audio — deleted as soon as your markers are returned.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. If you're in the UK or EU, you also have the right to object to processing and to complain to your data protection authority — though we'd love the chance to fix it first.
Deleting your data
Settings → Account → Delete everything. That removes your recordings, clips, markers, and account from our systems within 30 days. Or email us and we'll do it for you.
